“Talk Radio” was born from a desire to create a different kind of musical improv format that allowed a higher level of audience interaction while also focusing on creating great music. Inspired by radio shows and DJs choosing music based on interviews and stories from callers, "Talk Radio" became an interactive and impulsive collaboration of storytelling. The audience becomes the live studio audience, and callers are represented through characters on stage. It is a total collaboration with the audience: these conversations (their words, ideas, stories, anecdotes) are the only inspiration for characters and songs. DJ Tax Collector (Tom) improvises on the piano and DJ Bird (Jayda) improvises vocally and hosts, and together they immerse the audience in music that has never been heard before, and will never be heard again.
